I love sending guests to places where they can actually find Maui-made things, good produce, little gifts and local businesses — not just the same souvenir shelves everywhere. These are the places I’d start with.

If you’re staying at Grand Champions, this is the little center I’d explore first. It’s close, easy and has a nice mix of local businesses without feeling like a giant mall.

Fresh local produce, grab-and-go food, salads and hot soups. I LOVE the soup and fresh veggies! 😊 It’s perfect if you want something good to bring back to the condo. The Wailea store opened in 2026 and is open daily.

Paper Garden

Wailea Village Farmers Market – Tuesdays

Every Tuesday from 8:00–11:00 AM. Local farmers, makers, produce and small vendors. If your stay falls over a Tuesday, this is such an easy one to add — especially for Grand Champions guests.
Good to know: The market is currently scheduled weekly, but I still like guests to check the event page before heading over.

This is the bigger, more upscale shopping option with designer stores, restaurants and galleries. I don’t think of it as a hidden local find, but it’s useful if you actually want a mall/shopping afternoon.

Every Saturday from 7:00 AM–1:00 PM with more than 100 vendors. Produce, food, crafts, clothing, gifts and all kinds of random finds. This is the big Saturday market I’d send someone to if they want to browse for a while.
Good to know: Go earlier before it gets hot.

Saturday 7:00–11:00 AM with 100+ local vendors. This one feels much more farm-and-food focused — fruit, vegetables, flowers, fresh fish, baked goods and local products. I really like it if you’re doing an Upcountry morning.
Good to know: It’s at Kulamalu Town Center near the football fields.

If you miss the farmers market, Okoʻa’s Upcountry shop is another really good produce stop. Same reason I like their Wailea store: local farm food, produce and easy things to bring back to the condo.

If you want a gift with more meaning than a generic souvenir, this is a good place to look. They focus on Hawaiian craftsmanship, cultural knowledge and work by local artisans. I’d come here for something thoughtful rather than a beach trinket.
